Autumn is truly treating us well this year. Whenever I feel uninspired, music is one of the things that can pull me out of melancholy. The weekend is finally here. I am automatically reminded of "The Weekend" by SZA, whose voice I cannot get out of my mind at the moment. Besides sleeping, reading and editing, I have some film plans which include Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006) and The Shop Around the Corner (1940). I think there are two kinds of hideouts I like the most. The first one is in the crowded streets of huge cities, and the second one, oppositely, somewhere in the lungs of nature, completely secluded.
December is finally here. I go for my usual walk around the city wearing my holographic choker collar from Apatico. I feel as though I haven't been to Zeitgeist in a while; I also wanted an excuse to see if my favorite barista was working. I immediately notice a long line leading up to, lo and behold, the attractive barista himself. As I wait patiently, I take note of his body language and behavior. I admire the way he hugs himself when talking with his customers. When my turn approaches, we make eye contact and exchange smiles and greetings. It took me by surprise when he remembered my drink order: a quad Americano to-go.
